The Memorial Athletic and Convocation (M.A.C.) Center on the Kent State campus has long been a bustling hub for intercollegiate athletics. Built in 1950Â in honor of the brave Kent State students and alumni that fought in World War II, the M.A.C. Center hosts Golden Flashes basketball, gymnastics, volleyball and wrestling events as well as convocation and select entertainment events.
Among the additions inside the M.A.C. Center is the Blue and Gold Club Loge, which provides a panoramic view of the competition court from the third floor of the building. In 2006, another set of renovations swept through the M.A.C. Center bringing a new parquet floor and a pair of video sideboards for replays and graphics.
All five teams have found measured success in the confines of the M.A.C. Center, making it a formidable place to play for foes. Women's basketball boasted a 43-game home unbeaten streak from 1997 to 2001 and has a home winning percentage among the best in the nation.
